Christmas at Tom Hixson

You bring the guests. We’ll help with the rest.

When should I order for Christmas?

We recommend ordering your Christmas meat as early as possible to secure your preferred cuts and delivery date. Christmas is one of our busiest periods, and popular products such as whole turkeys, premium beef joints and festive trimmings can sell quickly. Available delivery dates will be displayed at checkout.

Can I choose my Christmas meat delivery date?

Yes, you can select your preferred available delivery date during checkout. We recommend arranging delivery ahead of Christmas Day to allow plenty of time for preparation. Delivery availability may be limited during the festive period, so ordering early is advisable.

How is my Christmas meat delivered?

Your Christmas meat is carefully packaged in specially designed insulated boxes with ice sheets to keep it chilled during transit. Our packaging is designed to maintain a suitable chilled temperature for up to 72 hours, helping your order arrive in excellent condition.

Do you offer free delivery on Christmas meat orders?

Yes, we offer free UK delivery on orders over £150. Orders under £150 are subject to a £7.99 delivery charge. Some remote UK postcodes are excluded from our delivery service.

What is the best meat for Christmas dinner?

Traditional turkey is always a popular choice, but there are plenty of delicious alternatives. A premium beef ribeye, tender fillet, chateaubriand or slow-roasted joint can make an impressive Christmas centrepiece. Our Christmas collection includes carefully selected meats to suit everything from intimate family dinners to larger festive gatherings.

How much meat should I order per person for Christmas?

The amount of meat you'll need depends on the cut, whether it's bone-in or boneless, and how many side dishes you're serving. As a general guide, allow around 200-250g of boneless beef per adult, with larger portions for bone-in joints. If you're planning a traditional turkey dinner, remember to allow for the weight of the bones and any leftovers you'd like to enjoy on Boxing Day.

Can I freeze my Christmas meat before Christmas Day?

Many of our fresh meat products can be frozen at home, provided this is done before their use-by date and in accordance with the packaging instructions. Some products are supplied frozen and may begin to thaw during delivery, so these should not be refrozen on arrival. Always check the individual product information for storage guidance.

How long will my Christmas meat stay fresh?

Freshness and storage times vary depending on the product and packaging. We recommend refrigerating your meat as soon as it arrives, following the use-by date and storage instructions provided. If you're ordering well in advance, freezing suitable fresh products can help you prepare ahead of the festive celebrations.

Do you sell Christmas trimmings as well as meat?

Yes! Alongside our premium Christmas turkey, beef and roasting joints, you can find festive favourites including sausages, bacon and sausage meat, perfect for preparing pigs in blankets, homemade stuffing and other Christmas essentials.

Can I collect my Christmas order instead of having it delivered?

Yes, we offer Click & Collect from our Sydenham location in London. Simply select the collection option at checkout, subject to availability. Collection dates and opening times may differ during the Christmas period, so please check your order confirmation for the relevant detail
