Rosendale Wagyu Ribeye Wins Silver at the World Steak Challenge 2026
We’re incredibly proud to announce that Tom Hixson of Smithfield has been awarded Silver at the World Steak Challenge 2026 for our Rosendale Wagyu Ribeye.
The World Steak Challenge is one of the leading international benchmarks for steak quality, bringing together exceptional beef from producers around the world. Since launching in 2015, the competition has judged thousands of steaks from more than 25 steak-producing countries, making recognition on this global stage a fantastic achievement.
Every steak undergoes a rigorous and independent judging process. Entries are blind judged, with the producer and country of origin kept anonymous. An expert international judging panel assesses the steaks both raw and cooked, considering criteria including appearance, colour, marbling and fat consistency, followed by aroma, flavour, succulence, tenderness and texture. Scores are then totalled and independently verified before medals are awarded.
Receiving a Silver Award is wonderful recognition of the quality and eating experience of our Rosendale Wagyu Ribeye. We are immensely proud of our dedicated team and farming partners, whose expertise, care and commitment go into creating this exceptional beef.
